Teaching

My teaching and research interests are mainly in the area of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Education and increasingly in Online Education.


Qualifications & Experience

I grew up in Toowoomba and took my undergraduate degree in Chemistry among the first group of students to enrol on the now USQ campus in 1967. After graduating I moved to Brisbane where I completed my Masters degree in Organic Chemistry. I taught and was Principal in Queensland secondary schools before joining USQ as a lecturer in 1991. During 2001-2002 I worked at Purdue University in the USA.


Publications

My current research interests centre on online education, integration of ICT in teaching and the educational application of multimedia. My publications list includes links to the full text of a number of papers.


Memberships

I am a member of several professional associations. During 1999 - 2001 I was Editor of the QSITE Journal, QUICK. From 1995 until 2001 I was chair of the Toowoomba Chapter of the Queensland Society for Information Technology in Education. I am currently Chair of the Information Technology Council in the Society for Information Technology in Teacher Education and an Associate Editor for the Journal of Technology in Teacher Education.
